In this role, you are responsible for designing, developing, and realizing mechanical solutions within our sorting systems. You work extensively with CAD, but your role goes beyond just drafting.
Job description
As a Mechanical Engineer at Eurosort, you play an important role in designing and realizing advanced sorting systems that are used worldwide. You work extensively with 2D and 3D CAD, but your role goes beyond just modeling: you actively contribute to technical solutions, manufacturability, and the optimization of our machines. You translate technical layouts into concrete designs that are directly used in production and installation, while also preparing bill of materials, technical documentation, and instructions.
You already have a solid foundation in engineering and are capable of independently designing components and modules of machines. At the same time, you work closely with senior engineers and other disciplines, actively contributing to technical decisions and optimizations. You are involved in design reviews and project meetings, where your input becomes increasingly valuable.
At Eurosort, you will be part of an informal organization where collaboration, development, and ownership are key. You will have the opportunity to further develop yourself towards a senior level, both technically and in terms of responsibility within projects.
What we offer
Salary between €4,000 – €4,750 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week)
A challenging role within an international and growing organization
Performance-based bonus scheme that can reach up to 150% of your gross monthly salary
30 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
Opportunities for training and courses for both technical and personal development
Travel allowance of €0.23 per km
70% contribution to your pension plan
Laptop & phone, also for personal use
Working on unique, high-tech machine building projects
A experienced engineering team with short communication lines and an informal working atmosphere
Freedom and responsibility in organizing your work
What will you do
In this role, you are responsible for designing, developing, and realizing mechanical solutions within our sorting systems. You work extensively with CAD, but your role goes beyond just drafting: you think along on technical solutions, translate customer and project requirements into manufacturable designs, and ensure everything aligns with production, assembly, and maintenance. You will work with systems such as Inventor (3D CAD), Vault (PDM), Ridder IQ (ERP), and Jira for project and task management, placing you at the center of the engineering process.
You will work on both Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineering-to-Order (ETO) projects. Within ETO, you develop custom solutions, which you – when needed – test in our Innovation Center to validate that they function as intended. You take into account applicable CE guidelines and machine safety standards, ensuring your designs are not only technically sound, but also safe, manufacturable, and easy to maintain.
Your responsibilities include:
Designing and developing 2D and 3D CAD drawings in Inventor
Creating production and assembly drawings
Preparing and managing bill of materials (BOM) in Ridder IQ
Managing and structuring designs in Vault (PDM system)
Developing instructions and technical documentation
Developing and testing custom solutions in the Innovation Center
Applying CE guidelines and machine safety standards
Actively participating in design reviews and technical discussions
Supporting production and assembly with technical input
Identifying and implementing improvements in designs and processes
Working with Jira for project and task management
Contributing to the standardization of components and working methods
Supporting testing, prototypes, and validation of designs
Contributing to technical solutions within projects
Job requirements
HBO or MBO degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
3–5 years of relevant work experience within machine building or a similar environment
Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor)
Experience in creating 2D drawings and technical documentation
Good knowledge of production processes, assembly, and tolerances
Knowledge of CE guidelines and machine safety
Affinity with machine building and complex technical systems
Good command of Dutch and English
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and a true team player
