As a Product Engineer, you work on designing, improving, and standardizing mechatronic modules for our advanced sorting systems. You operate at the intersection of product development and engineering.

Job description

As a Product Engineer at Eurosort, you work on designing, improving, and standardizing mechatronic modules for our advanced sorting systems. You operate at the intersection of product development and engineering, ensuring that solutions are not only technically sound but also practical to manufacture, install, and maintain. You work on the “building blocks” of our machines, giving you direct influence on the future of our sorting systems.

You will work in an environment that is increasingly transitioning from purely mechanical designs to integrated mechatronic systems. This means you are not only designing but also collaborating closely with different disciplines such as electrical engineering, production, and supply chain. You use tools like Inventor (3D CAD) for your designs and process product and bill of materials data in systems such as the ERP system Ridder iQ and the PDM application Vault.

At Eurosort, you will be part of an informal organization where everyone can be themselves. Communication lines are short, colleagues support each other, and ownership is highly valued. You will work in a close-knit team, building smart and scalable solutions together with your colleagues.

What do we offer

  • Salary between €3,500 and €4,500 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek)

  • A role with direct impact on the development of the product portfolio

  • A performance-based bonus scheme that can reach up to 150% of your monthly salary

  • 30 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)

  • Laptop and phone (also available for personal use)

  • Possibility to work from home

  • A lot of variety between design, testing, improvement, and standardization

  • Plenty of room to develop yourself towards mechatronics and product development

  • Opportunities for training and courses

  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per km

  • 70% contribution to your pension

  • Informal working environment where initiative is appreciated

What will you do?

In this role, you are responsible for developing and improving modules that are reused across multiple projects. You think about how products can be smarter, more efficient, and easier to manufacture, and translate this into concrete designs.

Your responsibilities & tasks include:

  • Designing and further developing mechanical and mechatronic modules

  • Creating 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings in Inventor

  • Preparing and managing bills of materials (BOMs) and processing data in the ERP system Ridder iQ and PDM system Vault

  • Selecting and integrating components such as sensors, motors, and drives

  • Performing calculations (strength, tolerances, lifespan)

  • Conducting design reviews, FMEAs, and validation tests

  • Testing and verifying designs after production

  • Coordinating with production, assembly, and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and availability

  • Providing technical support to Project Engineering and Service

  • Contributing to the standardization and harmonization of the product portfolio

  • Initiating and implementing improvements in quality, cost, and reliability

You are involved from concept to realization and will see your designs come to life in practice.

Job requirements

  • MBO+/HBO level of working and thinking in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field

  • 2–5 years of experience in a mechatronic design environment (preferably in machine building)

  • Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably Inventor)

  • Knowledge of mechatronic systems, drive technology, and sensor technology

  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering or willingness to develop this

  • Experience in creating BOMs and technical documentation

  • Understanding of manufacturability, assembly, and production techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Independent, proactive, and a strong sense of ownership

  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
