Job description
As a Support PLC Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, and coordinating issues related to sorting systems with PLC software. You will serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing both remote and on-site support in the Netherlands and across the EU. Additionally, you will perform upgrades, updates, and modifications while ensuring accurate administrative handling of service requests.
You will work closely with colleagues within the Service & Support department to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and continuously improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
Staffing the hotline for remote PLC support in collaboration with colleagues.
Direct telephone contact with customers regarding sorting systems and PLC software.
Providing 1st and 2nd line support, both remotely and on-site.
Performing upgrades, updates, modifications, and troubleshooting issues.
Accurately registering calls and malfunctions in the SDB system using tickets.
Proactively reaching out to customers to improve service quality.
Collaborating with colleagues to optimize the Service & Support department.
You will be part of an enthusiastic and committed team where teamwork and customer satisfaction are top priorities. The team consists of 3 Support PLC Engineers and 3 Support Software Engineers. Additionally, you will work closely with the Controls department. You will report to the Head of Service & Support Helpdesk.
Job requirements
Completed MBO/HBO degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
Experience in industrial automation is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of modern control systems such as Siemens SIMATIC S7/PCS7/TIA Portal, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet).
Excellent command of the English language; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to work.
Team player with a strong sense of responsibility.
Willingness to participate in on-call duty rotations.
Possession of a valid driver’s license (Category B).
