As a Sales Support Engineer, you play a key role: you translate customer requirements into technical designs, making a significant impact on our organization.

Job description

As a Sales Support Engineer at EuroSort, you are the first person to shape the design and calculate our sorting machines. You translate customer requirements into layouts and cost calculations that form the foundation of our solutions. This is an internal (office-based) role, in which you work closely with Sales Managers and gather input from various departments such as Purchasing, Project Management, Engineering, and Product Management.

A typical workweek is dynamic and varied. At the start of the week, you discuss with the team which projects are on the agenda. These can range from quick conceptual sketches taking half an hour for budgetary pricing, to detailed drawings and extensive calculations that may take a full day. You usually work on 4 to 5 projects per week, constantly switching between different levels of detail and complexity.

Approximately 60% of your time is spent creating layouts in AutoCAD. The remaining time is dedicated to calculations and supporting quotations. You work with our in-house Excel-based calculation model, which you maintain and further develop together with your colleagues. New products or configurations require creative solutions and new calculation methods, your input truly makes the difference here.

Although this is an internal role, there may be occasional direct contact with customers or suppliers. As you grow in the role and show initiative, the boundaries become more flexible and you may find yourself joining discussions at the table to contribute your expertise. This makes the role versatile and offers plenty of room for personal development.

What makes this position unique is that you are the one who creates the first concept of a machine. You determine the conveyor layout, sensor placement, and whether robots are required. You do not do this alone: you collaborate with colleagues, present concepts, and incorporate feedback into a complete design. This gives you direct influence on how our machines are ultimately built and delivered.

  • A technical background, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Technical Business Administration, with an affinity for layout and design

  • Affinity with material flow and systems thinking is a strong plus

  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic market with changing priorities

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to maintain overview and distinguish between main and secondary issues
