As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Eurosort, you work on designing electrical systems for advanced sorting machines used worldwide in logistics and automation.
Job description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Eurosort, you work on designing electrical systems for advanced sorting machines used worldwide in logistics and automation. You are technically responsible within projects and ensure that designs are not only correct on paper, but also safe, reliable, and practically feasible. In this role, you work closely with external suppliers of materials and components such as control cabinets, drives, safety components, and industrial networks. You define the technical specifications, safeguard quality, and ensure these components meet the required standards, including testing them upon delivery.
You work daily with the EPLAN application to design electrical schematics and process project information in the ERP system Ridder iQ. In addition, you play a key role within the team by guiding, supporting, and reviewing the work of junior engineers. No project is the same: each installation is custom-made and brings new technical challenges.
At Eurosort, you will be part of an informal organization where everyone can be themselves. Communication lines are short, colleagues support each other, and ownership is highly valued. If you have an idea to improve something, you are given the space to make it happen. At the same time, you collaborate with experienced colleagues from different disciplines and, as a senior, play an important role in the development of the team.
What do we offer?
Starting salary up to €6,000 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek), depending on experience and expertise
A challenging role with significant responsibility within a fast-growing international organization
A performance-based bonus scheme that can reach up to 150% of your monthly salary
30 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
Plenty of opportunities for both technical and personal development
Access to training courses and professional development programs
Travel allowance of €0.23 per km
70% contribution to your pension
The opportunity to work on unique and complex machine-building projects
A close-knit engineering team with short communication lines
An informal work environment where initiative is appreciated
What will you do?
In this role, you are responsible for the complete electrical design within your projects. You work on complex systems, make technical decisions, and ensure everything complies with the required standards and regulations. These technical decisions are always project-specific, taking into account different types of sensors, conveyor systems, and safety requirements. You use the EPLAN application to design and develop schematics and manage all relevant project data in Ridder iQ.
You are also an important sparring partner within the team and guide, support, and review junior and medior engineers in their work.
Your responsibilities include:
Designing and developing electrical schematics in EPLAN Electric P8
Processing and managing project information in the ERP system Ridder iQ
Defining technical specifications for suppliers (such as control cabinets and sensors)
Testing and evaluating supplied components (e.g., FATs at suppliers)
Taking full technical responsibility for your projects
Ensuring quality and consistency within engineering standards
Verifying designs against the Machinery Directive and relevant standards
Performing and reviewing risk assessments (PL/SIL)
Reviewing and approving schematics from junior and medior engineers
Guiding, supporting, and supervising junior engineers in their development
Making technical decisions and trade-offs within project constraints
Identifying and implementing technical and process improvements
Coordinating with colleagues from mechanical engineering, PLC/software, and other stakeholders
You are involved from start to finish and will see your designs come to life at customer sites.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s level of working and thinking in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine building or industrial automation
Proven experience with complex electrical projects
Solid knowledge of the Machinery Directive and relevant standards
Experience with risk assessments and determining PL/SIL levels
