Job description
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Eurosort, you are fully responsible for the mechanical design within projects, from scope definition to final realization. You combine in-depth technical expertise with leadership: you actively work on complex engineering challenges while also driving, guiding, and continuously improving the work within your projects. From the initial technical scope and 2D layout to the final implementation, you maintain oversight, safeguard quality, and ensure everything is aligned.
You operate at the core of the engineering phase and collaborate closely with Project Lead Engineers, Project Managers, and other disciplines across the organization. You act as a sparring partner, decision-maker, and coach. Within projects, you take the lead in defining the scope of work, distributing tasks, and monitoring both progress and quality. At the same time, Eurosort offers you the freedom to shape your role within clear frameworks, whether your strength lies in technical depth, coaching, or stakeholder management, we align the role with where you perform best.
What we offer
Salary between €5,000 – €5,500 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week)
A key role within an international and growing organization
Performance-based bonus up to 150% of your gross monthly salary
30 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
Plenty of room for personal and technical development
Opportunities for training and courses (technical & soft skills)
Travel allowance of €0.23 per km
70% pension contribution reimbursement
Laptop & phone (also for personal use)
Working on complex, high-tech machine building projects
High level of autonomy, responsibility, and influence within projects
A strong engineering team with short communication lines and an informal working atmosphere
What will you do
In this role, you are responsible for the full mechanical engineering process within projects. While you remain hands-on with complex technical challenges, your primary focus is on defining, coordinating, and controlling the work. You ensure that designs are technically sound, manufacturable, and aligned with production, assembly, and installation requirements. You work with tools such as Inventor (3D CAD), Vault (PDM), Ridder IQ (ERP), and Jira for project and task management.
You are involved in both CTO (Configure-to-Order) and ETO (Engineering-to-Order) projects, where you take the lead in developing custom solutions within ETO. You define the technical scope together with stakeholders, initiate projects, distribute tasks, and monitor progress. In addition, you play a key role in quality control: reviewing work from engineers, providing feedback, and ensuring a “first time right” approach. You are also closely involved in CE compliance and machine safety, ensuring that designs are safe, efficient, and easy to manufacture and maintain.
Your responsibilities include:
Initiating, setting up, and coordinating mechanical engineering projects
Defining technical scope together with Project Lead Engineers
Creating 2D layouts and developing complex designs
Designing and reviewing 3D models in Inventor
Checking and releasing drawings and technical documentation
Distributing tasks within the team and monitoring progress
Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior and medior engineers
Actively participating in and leading design reviews and technical discussions
Communicating with customers on technical solutions when required
Creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications
Supporting production, assembly, and service with technical input
Participating in CE risk assessments and ensuring machine safety compliance
Identifying risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities within projects
Contributing to standardization, optimization, and process improvements
Monitoring project progress, hours, and technical quality (e.g., via Jira)
Job requirements
Bachelor’s (HBO) or MBO+ degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5+ years of relevant work experience in machine building or a similar environment
Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (Inventor) and 2D drawings
Experience with Vault (PDM), ERP systems (e.g., Ridder IQ), and Jira is a plus
Strong knowledge of production processes, assembly, and tolerances (GD&T)
Experience with CE directives and machine safety
Experience in coaching and mentoring engineers
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others
Able to justify technical decisions and bring stakeholders along
Analytical, solution-oriented, and quality-driven
Good command of Dutch and English
Team player with leadership capabilities
