As Electrical Engineer Service & Support at EuroSort, you are responsible for adjusting and expanding the electrical documentation of existing installations. You work for customers that already use an installed sorting machine of EuroSort and want a modification or refurbishment. When a request comes in from a customer, you consult with the Service Projects, Engineering and Purchasing departments to see which disciplines need to be involved in making the adjustments. The plan is then circulated back to the customer.
On the basis of the requested adjustments, you adjust the electrical design and the electrical wiring diagrams. You also expand this documentation where necessary. In most cases, you can work out the adjustments on the basis of the existing drawings, but in some cases you visit the customer to map out what the machine looks like and what exactly needs to be adjusted. During the project, you process the parts lists for the modifications in the ERP system and you regularly discuss the progress of projects with the relevant Project Managers. You also keep your product knowledge of existing installations up to date, so that colleagues can consult you about on this.
You are part of the Service Projects team, which also consists of a Service Project Manager, a Work Planner and a Mechanical Engineer Service Support. You will be working on several projects simultaneously and will be in close contact with the Engineering Department.
If you enjoy coming up with suitable solutions to technical problems and find it challenging to do so in a new team, then this is the job for you.
Working week
On an enjoyable day, you use your creative skills to come up with a suitable solution for a customer. You also visit a customer to make a good recording of the machine.
On a less enjoyable day, you make little progress with a project because a lot of internal consultation is still required. Since this is a large project, this coordination is important before you actually start working.
